Welcome to our practice. We specialize in the surgical treatment of the teeth, the oral cavity, and facial bones. Oral and maxillofacial procedures include:

Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth or third molars, are the last teeth to develop and appear in the mouth. Many times the jaws of modern humans are not normally large enough to accommodate the four wisdom teeth. If a wisdom tooth is blocked from erupting into the mouth, it is termed "impacted." Serious problems can develop from impacted teeth such as pain, infection, cysts and crowding of, or damage to adjacent teeth. Many problems with wisdom teeth can occur with few or no symptoms so there can be damage without your knowing it. A consultation with our doctors will discuss the indications for removal of wisdom teeth.

Dental Implants
Dental Implants are titanium tooth posts which are placed in the jaws and act as anchors to support artificial teeth. People with missing teeth can benefit from tremendous improvements in esthetics, chewing efficiency, and speech. People of all ages are turning to dental implants to replace a single tooth, several teeth or all teeth. Often by using implants, the dentist will not have to alter the adjacent natural teeth. Implants are the solution when it has become difficult or impossible to wear a removable denture.

Soft Tissue Grafts
Transfer of gingiva (gums) from one area of the mouth to another area. Soft tissue grafts are used to create ideal esthetics or correct results of periodontal disease.

Apical Root Canal Surgery/Apicoectomy
Teeth which have been treated by root canals may deteriorate over time and result in an infection at the apex or root tip. Surgery is performed to remove the infection and seal the root tip portion of the tooth using a microscopic, ultrasonic technique.

Pathology
Removal of cysts, tumors, or lesions in the intra-oral or extra-oral structures.

Tooth Extractions
Removal of decayed or fractured teeth which are beyond restoration.

Congenital Facial Deformities
Patients with skeletal facial deformities undergo orthognathic surgical procedures to restore the facial skeleton to a normal functional and aesthetic profile.

Osteogenic Distraction
Patients with skeletal facial deformities undergo conventional orthognathic surgery or osteogenic distraction to restore the facial skeleton to a normal functional and esthetic profile.

Temporomandibular Joint "TMJ"
Treatment of TMJ pathology through conservative measures is advocated. In more severe cases, internal joint surgery may be indicated.

Maxillofacial Trauma
Reconstruction of mild to severe skeletal facial trauma, including jaw fractures, cheekbone fractures or reconstruction of the entire facial skeleton.

Snoring Treatment
Laser assisted uvulopalatoplasty or reduction of the uvula and palate to eliminate or decrease snoring.

Bone Grafts
Placement of synthetic bone or transfer of the patient's own bone to another area in the mouth to idealize the anatomy for implants, bridges, or correction of periodontal disease. Reconstruction of lost jawbone due to cancer or trauma may be necessary.

I-Cat (Three Dimensional Imaging)
State of the art imaging similar to CT scans to more accurately visualize facial and dental structures. This allows for more precise implant planning and diagnosis of disease of the head and neck. The scanner is located at our Park Ridge Office.
